We recently purchased a home and I am in the process of removing wallpaper glue from my hall and entry walls... I was able to get the wallpaper off with a steamer but there is still THICK glue on the walls. When the wallpaper was put up, by the builder 20+ years ago, they failed to size, paint, primer, etc. the walls and I am basically removing the glue directly from the drywall (and damaging it in the process.)
I am contenplating just rewallpapering however, I do not know if I can do this without sizing the walls and don't know if I can do that over old glue.
I need suggestions on glue removal. I have tried hot water, DIF, TSP and scraping. What do you suggest? And can I just rewallpaper without removing the glue?
