Help! Fixer Upper for first time home buyer

Posted by Kimberly on October 5th, 1999 05:02 PM

I really need some advice. I am looking at buying a Bungalow (approx. 1200sq). It looks like you could expand the kithen by knocking a wall down which may be a main support wall. Since I am new at this, how much could this run cost-wise if I do it myself (with some help) and if I hired some help. Also, I think you'd need to put a support beam to replace the wall.

Would this be a smart move to open up the kitchen? Of course, window would be replaced and other changes too including flooring (was thinking tile). Just wanted to get an idea of how much this would run so I can compare that to the house price.
