In reply to linolium removal by C.F. Lucero on January 26th, 2000 04:20 PM [Go to top of thread]

i need to take old lino and tiles off my floors. they are aprox 50 years old. the reason i need to is because i bought a house that has been closed up for one year. when you walk in it has a smell like a barn. i ripped out all the old carpets and underneath i found real old lino. i cant carpet over it because it is so old that it stinks. i have tryed to pry if off but it is almost like it has become a part of the floor. when you try to get it off some parts will pull off down to the wood but most of the time only the top if it comes off and it leaves a bunch behind. what is left is sort of sticky and black in color. help me. so far all i have heard of is this stuff called foam off but i am not sure it will work.
