It is always possible that the breaker or furnace switch is off, the transformer fuse or transformer burned, or the thermostat heating white wire is broken or disconnected. If power is applied to the furnace, 24 volts from the transformer is available, and the white thermostat wire is removed from the thermostat to be touched to the red 24-volt thransformer lead, then the furnace heating cycle doesn't start; there is a problem deeper into the circuit board and an experienced technician is needed. Also check that the fuel supply valve is open.
