hardwood glue down

Posted by Byron on September 26th, 1999 07:17 PM

I have just purchased about 1000 square feet of antique long leaf pine flooring. I have been told by a building contractor that he glues down all fo his solid wood floors with a polyurethane glue with great success. I am aware of the reasons why this is not recommended, however because of the level of my existing slab, to add a 3/4" plywood base and a 3/8" pine floor would make it difficult to tie into my existing floors. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Byron
