I just had hardwood floors installed and have some friendly advice for you. 1)KNOW YOUR INSTALLER 2)READ THE WARRANTY REQUIREMENTS MANDATED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE WOOD - Your average installation crew (especially if contracted out) doesn't give a rats' behind if your warranty is voided after THEIR check clears. (This info is included in the boxes of flooring and you will have to ask beforehand or you will not even see it until they show up to install it.) 3) Find out what your subfloor is made of. Presswood is bad, you want plywood or else a magic fairy that will insure you will never have a leak or spill of any sort.
Good luck - I found out these things the hard way BEFORE I discovered this site. Now I research the heck out of everything....Saffron
