We bought a 96-year old farmhouse a few months ago. I believe all the floors had new subflooring installed. We want to put hardwood into the living room. I've had contractors tell me that my floor is too uneven to use floating engineered hardwood and should only use solid hardwood and I don't need to level the floor. Then I had another one tell me the opposite! Only laminate can go on such an uneven floor! I don't want laminate if it is paper pressed onto plywood. I really want real wood. Anyone out there have any advice?
