Hardwood Floor Refinishing Excessive Bubbles

Posted by James K. Tomlinson on April 28th, 2002 09:30 PM

I have a question I was wondering if you could help me with. I am a professional floor installer and refinisher that has been in business for over 15 years. Just recently I refinished a floor with minwax cherry stain and 3 coats of oil based polyurethane. The first two coats were perfection and the last coat after it dried had excessive bubbles in the finish that never popped. I buffed the floor with the maroon pad, vacuumed and recoated with a brand new can of finish just incase it was a bad can. I shut off the air, closed all of the windows as I do with every job. The very same thing happened again. ANY ideas of what could be the problem would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks so very much in advance,
James K. Tomlinson
