I was hoping thatsomeone could provide comments in regards to the
information below
My concern is we had engineered hardwood flooring ( Bruce 3/8 )
installed (Glued)on an unleveled sub floor with dips that measure up to
1/2 inch and 3/4 inch. The contractor neglected to level the floor. The
hardwood is laid on a sub floor that is 5/8 tong and grove plywood
resting on 2"x2" sleepers which are screwed down with tap con screws.
The 2x2 sleepers have conformed to the unleveled concrete and the
plywood sub floor has taken on the form of the sleepers. They also
neglected to put any type of moisture barrier between the ground and
the sub floor. The concrete floor was only sealed with a thin coat of
clear liquid sealer. There have already been areas that have lifted and
we are concerned that in time other areas will begin to lift. We assumed
that the contractor would level the sub floor before the installation of
the hardwood but they didn't. We are pusuing this issue with the
contractors head office but they tell me that my concerns are not valid.
Any information that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. The
entire area of hardwood is 800 SF
