We just built a new home and have sided it with Hardiplank. I'm not familiar with Novabrick but can recommend Hardiplank. Friends in Atlanta have hadit for several years and are very happy. We found it extremely easy to work with, very easy to paint (you would want to buy the primed)

The only bad part was the cutting of it. The fine dust is very bad to breathe so you would want to cut it outdoors with a fan if there is no wind to blow it away from you. WE noticed a few days ago in Home Depot they now have special blade for cutting Hardiplank so it might be better than just regular blade. Good luck!
