Hanging cabinets on plaster walls

My house was built in 1935 and there are plaster walls over brick where my kitchen cabinets will go (already have torn down the other cabinets.. held in precariously with molly bolts). I can't seem to find any studs, but since there's a window in each wall, I know there's at least wood framing around those, right? My question is .. can I hang stock cabinets using tapcon screws into the walls? Will they hold? Is there a chance there are studs, but are crossed and not vertical? This is really frustrating. My stud finder gives all sortsa weird info on the deep setting. Thanks in advance.
