We placed an elevated concrete slab (four way slab) supported by four concrete columns (12" x 12") about eight months. The slab is about 16'long and 14'wide. The client contacted me today to tell me that there were cracks in the conrete. Upon inspection of the slab (top and bottom) I could see some hairline fractures running along the slab. The concrete came from a company with all of the standard requirements. Any comments on why there are cracks?. t
This construction was done here in the tropics, Panama, Republic of Panama. We have a very high humdity rate here, about 95% in the wet season which goes from around May to December. Any comments, suggestions on how to take care of these cracks will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Sandra Toothman (507) 618-4231
