oh geez, bc, did you have to bring HIM up?

the drip edge needs to be at least 3/8 of an inch, because water will actually wick up the inside of the drip edge and then down the facia if the drip edge isn't big enough.

Without actually seeing what is happening, I couldn't give a better description. You could try getting an estimate for gutters and ask the pro while he's there to give you his opinion on what is causing your problem, besides whether you have gutters or not....

Don't just pull his chain, don't call for an estimate unless you are willing to actually consider the work.
