Gutter run-off

I have two gutter downspouts that I need to connect to a common drain to channel the water some distance away from the house (approx. 75 feet). In my opinion, the hard part of the work is digging the ditch for the drain pipe. I checked with a landscaper who wants to charge me $600 "to dig a deep ditch, line it with gravel, place the pipe and back-fill it." In my opinion, I just want to dig deeply enough to completely bury the pipe and be done with it. My way is much cheaper. I can dig a lot for $600. My landscaper says his way is the only way. What do you think?
