In reply to How To Clean Oily Gunk Off Wood Floors by Carl on December 6th, 2001 05:26 PM [Go to top of thread]

There are several things you could try, but the only one I can think of that wouldn't stink is to try hand cleaner like "Fast Orange" or "Goop". I have used these when I have a customer that unwittingly brushes againt fresh oil paints, to take the paint off their clothes. The hand cleaner dissolves the oil, then take a detergent after the hand cleaner. Be sure to get one that doesn't have pumice in it.

Beyond that, your probably into solvents. The one I'd try is lighter fluid, the one that you would use in a cigarette ligher, not the one for charcoal.

Good luck!
