with the limited infor provided by sears online there are only a couple things that make sense here. 1)follow the wire routing to see if there is some interference somewhere with the mower deck engagement lever, possibly chafing the wire and causing the short to ground. 2)try to obtain the actual wiring schematic and find out exactly what the 30 amp fuse feeds and how that relates to the mower deck. If the 30 amp fuse feeds everything thewn you can use a systematic approach by disconnecting each fed item (solenoids, lights, ignition, etc) one at a time until the short goes away...when it does, you've located the culprit. You can buy a circuit breaker for test purposes at your local auto parts store so you don't have to use a zillion fuses for testing. Do NOT replace the fuse with a circuit breaker as a'll end up with more headaches! Good luck...
