Grounds vs. GFCI?

I could be wrong, but I believe Tom was saying that
grounds and GFCIs is safer than GFCIs alone,
and that is hard to argue with.

While GFCI breakers are certainly a possibility, they
are very expensive and obviously not an option for those
who still have fuse boxes.

It should be pointed out that, unless there are local
amendments to the contrary, the NEC permits grounding
of outlets via a seperate grounding conductor as long
as it is installed so as to be "protected" and is
properly connected to the house's grounding
