The only approved way to do this without a ground wire is to replace them with a GFI either find the first receptical on the circuit and install it there using the load side of the device to protect the rest of the circuit or by install a GFI breaker on the circuit. The breaker is alot more costly but could save some time verses trying to locate the first receptical on the circuit. This method does not provide a ground but is approved and is safer. But there really is no better way than to have a truly ground system.
