I have a 50-year-old gravity heater (with cold air return on a bottom vent, and heat vent at the top of the wall) that appears to have a problem. PG&E came out to turn on the gas and inspect, and found that there was flame distortion ("flame rolling") in the pilot light which created a serious hazard. They turned off the gas so it is safe now. The guy seemed to think the vent or chamber could possibly be clogged. The house was essentially built around the heater, so it is not
practical to get to the vent/chamber. I will be checking the vents for signs of being clogged, but after reading this, do you think there is a quick fix/suggestion? Thank you in advance for your repsonse.
