In reply to your material costs by bc on July 5th, 2000 11:10 AM [Go to top of thread]

Yes, you did say in a separate 'follow-up' that you saw material costs as low as $105 based on Home Cheapo. (my 2 yen worth)

I mis-took your lead in vinyl siding costs to include Labor (which is what I 'supplied' in addition to the Material costs.) With that in mind, when I read 'vinly siding costs', I mis-took your $115 to include the labor which is just part of what Rodney was asking for. Cost is cost - labor is labor. My mis-understanding. (You don't have to say it a 3rd time - I got it ...) Just so that 'everyone' is on the same page:

TOTAL LABOR (2 men): $3,325.00
TOTAL (siding & capping 22 sqs.): $6,278.73

LABOR (To Do Siding & Capping): -$2,953.73
Dumpster: -$345
Windows (Caulk & Capping & Kit): -$162.34
TOTAL MATERIAL COST (as stated): $2,817.66

Close enough. And if one was to remove a few other 'odds and ends', I'm sure it would be closer to $115 per square. I did get a Senior Citizen's 10% discount at Home Depot! So, you can almost add 10% to the 'cost' of material for this. (We used my Dad's Builder Square's Senior Tuesday's Discount Card at Home Depot.) But no more - Builder's Square is O-O-B!!!
