Glass block window in a shower

Posted by Debbie on June 19th, 1998 02:52 PM

We just built a new home and had a glass block window put in the shower area. Yes, it does get wet when showering.
It is not real glass, but plastic. We have ceramic tile all around the shower and the glass block window
and we are having some major problems with the grout cracking around the window and now the tiles are coming off.
We have only used the shower several times since moving in 3 weeks ago.
We are wondering if you are supposed to use these "fake" glass block windows in a shower setting. What would be causing the
grout around the ceramic tile to crack and the tiles to come loose?
Should we replace the plastic glass block with a real glass block and mortar window?
Any ideas about that or why the ceramic tiles may be coming off????
I would appreciate any advice or comments or help. We are very frustrated since this is a new home and we can't use our new
shower area.
