I used glass block in my tub window and it works great. I get both light and privacy. You can tile right up to the glass block, or use Corian for the window casing. Remember -- NO horizontal surfaces. Everything, especially the window sill must be angled to drain water. Use high quality caulk such as silicone at the important joints and you should have no problems.

Don't forget the ventilation!
