GFCI downstream problem

Posted by Bob Street on November 5th, 2001 10:55 AM

I recently plugged in a hand drill to an outside GFI outlet. The outlet arc'd and tripped the breaker. After resetting the breaker, I tested the outlet and found the arc'd side dead and the other side hot. All outlets (GFCI) and lights in the master bathroom are dead also (probably downstream on the same ciruit). None of the outlets (or lights) downstream can be reset. How do I restore power to this side of the outlet and the bathroom?
