Thanks for the response Doug.

I only have an idiot light but I can bring a meter home from work. I understand what you are saying about the cable clamp or nails...but here is the strange thing....when I pulled the neutral off the outlet and tested neutral to ground the idiot light did not light up. However, on the load part of the outlet I checked neutral to ground and it lit up. With what you are saying it possible that I have a proplem down the line from the outlet? Perhaps a nail there? WIth that in mind, if I pull the load off and just connect the line the outlet should work meaning the problem exsist after the outlet.
