The pamphlets may help, but don't ask the clerk for advice. Chances are very good he/she has never installed a glass block anything!

I built glass block bar a few years ago. I went to a glass block dealer and got excellent advice. These people work with glass block every day, they know what they are talking about. I bought the materials from them. Their prices are competitive with the box stores.

BTW - you have three options on the window.
1) buy the block and mortar/silicone and do it all yourself
2) have the glass block company assemble the window and you install like any other type of window
3) let the glass block company assemble and install

Ask for bids on options 2 and 3, then compare to the costs of oiption 1. You may find it worth yopur time to choose option 2 or 3.
