Get a glass cutter...(?)

Go to a hobby shop or a glass shop and get a glass cutter. This is a really neat tool that has an extremely hard cutting wheel on the end of a funny looking handle. You run the wheel along your cut line and it scribes the glass so that when you bend it along the axis of the cut, the tile (should) break right along the scribe line. You should wear eye protection and hold the tile so that you are less likely to get cut if it breaks wrong.

Smooth the rough (razor sharp) edges with emory cloth. As far as an adhesive, a normal tile adhesive should work for most applications UNLESS the tile is clear glass (what does your underlayment look like?) in which case I might ask the tile retailer what they recommend.

I am not a tile expert, and these ideas are strictly suggestions. Do some more homework before you get too far along....
