In addition to the installation, you must (MUST) test your joint with a 25# air test for 24 hours. Many, many homes have been completely devistated by a leaky gas line. Most codes require you to get an inspection and permit to guarantee the quality of the work and the worthiness of the installation. I highly recommend this, if you are not a professional gas fitter. Gas piping is the most dangerous plumbing you can work on. With water you get a little damage, with electrical (110v) a shock, but with gas, you loose the whole house (and possibly the family).
Good Luck
