A few years ago, I had real good results with using three inch fiberglass Insulation in the walls anf six inch insulation in the attic. Covered this with 1/4" OSA. You can leave as is or varnish or paint the surface. As far as the garage doors, DIY door insulation is not very good. Cosmetic wise or otherwise. I recently purchased a nice vinyl woodgrain Wayne-Dalton door for about 275.00. This was a 9x7. If you want insulated doors, I would recommend you Buy one.
The same garage door will vary considerably in price. Shop around.
