Garage Door Electric Eye

I'm not not up on the rules and regulations about not using the electric eye, but on mine, It works off 2 wires. I noticed that the voltage was higher at say 12 volts without being connected. And lower when it was, and even lower when the eye was tripped. I imagine it just monitors the voltage, which "normal" can be simulated with with the proper value resistor. The same method alarms use to monitor a "zone". Hope that gets ya started..Scott (alarm tek}
