I have an oil burning furnace with a thermostat wall mounted control , my oil tank is above ground and is inside in the basement next to the furnace ..
Here's the prob ...
Oil ran completely out last week and yesterday i called for a refill .
After the oil was in the tank I went to start the furnace as normal , i guess you know , that when the oil runs completely out one must start the furnace manually because just turning the thermostat on or up will not turn it on until you do the start the furnace procedure .
I did the start the furnace procedure as i normally would by ...
(1) Turning thermostat all way up
(2) pressing the red button on the furnace
(3) opening that bleeder valve so the air would come out and when i get that stream of oil , shut the valve off then the furnace ingnites and begins to run and warm .
here's the prob , yesterday when i went to press that red button on the furnace nothing happened .
Usually , once this button is pressed it kicks the furnace on then I go to the next step but this time NOTHING !
It wont come on ?????
I also have checked the house electrical circuit breaker and the fuse that's in the switch box thats at the furnace and both seems to be working ok .
