Aside from all the technical numbers, there's considerable psychological adaptation required in replacing an old 125,000 BTU furnace (that you've lived with for years) with a new 2-stage 80,000 BTU model, as we did -- the new furnace doesn't FEEL as warm, no matter what the thermometer says. And the new model takes much longer to heat the house, while doing perfectly what it is intended to do, more efficiently and more quietly than the old one.
