Furnace choices

Posted by Mike Blum on January 12th, 2003 06:44 PM

I am in the very early stages of home building and am trying to decide on a heating source. The house will be built in Northern VA around the Fredericksburg area. I grew up in NJ and we had oil fired furnaces with big radiators to hotwater baseboard gas furnace to forced air. Most homes today in VA are being built as all electric homes due to cost of units and maintenance. I don't plan on selling this home as I have worked for 25 years in the military and this is my "retirement" home. My choices are a Propane forced air, electric forced air or oil. The cost of the ol stby, hot water baseboard is over 10 times that of the others. Any opinions/help?
