furnace burns too long

we are using 50 gallons of gas a week so I timed my furnace and it burns for 30 minutes solid shuts down for 15 minutes and then burns again for 30 minutes and my house stays right at 70 degrees. So how long on average should my furnace be burning at one time I think 30 minutes at a time is too long. This is a new home and we have a lennox furnace.
