I notice a clanning noise when I was outside last night in the snow storm. The grills were frozen, so I poured water over them and on the blades. This stopped the noise. When I checked on the unit this morning, the blades, inside coils, wiring, and outside vents were all frozen. Again, I used warm water to remove ice. By the way, there is no supplemental heat notch on thermostat like upstairs heat pump. In other words, even when I raise thermostat, no heatpump! So, for the time being I turned the unit off. Did I make a mistake with the use of the water? I can't even get a repairman out because they are backed up due to the storm. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
