Use "rotten granite" for driveways and pathways. When it is first put down, it is somewhat loose, but as time goes on, it packs down and the surface becomes hard and solid. I don't know what the difference is with your decomposed granite, but perhaps using a compactor over the material will pack it down.
Perhaps others will post.
Good luck!
