From a Light to a Fan

Rick, If you only do what you are describing, then the existing 3-way switches will switch on/off both the fan and the light together. Makes sense, you switch off the power, and the fan can't run, have an electrician install a seperate unswitched power lead for the fan. Another way wo do this, is to buy one of the remote control kits, or a fan with the kit built in. WIth this kind of control you could just leave the switches in the on position and control the fan and light with the remote. However you would give up the convenience of the 3-way switches....Sigh...choices...choices.
