Thanks for the input. Yes, we have had it for three years now in our three year old home. We don't reallt like space heaters but some visitors have a hard time with the feeling. That is why we want to make sure to get a good, safe, efficient type. They woun't be used often anyway and would likely be more for when we have guests and they don't have the ability to feel the "emergency heat" of the system working. It gets to below zero here sometimes in the winter months (Kansas City area) so that would be the time it might be useful for friends.
We definitely do not want any of the tyeop that have the wire in them that glows and blows. We looked at the possibility of the type that can be installed on a ceiling fan but thought it would probably be best to get a small one that can be placed somewhere we can secure it for safety.
