fried remote too!!!

I TOOK APART THE HOUSING TO CHECK THE REMOTE RECIEVER THINKING THE WIRING WAS LOOSE ,ONLY TO FIND THE RECIEVER MELTED. THE WIRING WAS STILL GOOD. IT LOOKED LIKE THE RECIEVER GOT TOO HOT? IS THIS A COMMON OCCURANCE AND WHERE CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT
