About a week ago my 8 yr old sears fridge started acting up. It wasn't
keeping things as cold as it should. I turned the temp from 1.5 to 3 on
the dial. After a few days it went from 50 to 30 degrees and froze the
soda. The setting had been on 1.5 for years with no problems. The
freezer also had the same temp swing and I adjusted it downward as
well. Then for about 3 days in a row the temp was ok and functioning as
expected. But sure enough one day we went in and it was back up over 40
degrees. Of course it is running continuously through all of this.
Occasionally there is a kind of high pitched sound but it is not
constant when the compressor is running. The sound has been occurring
for several months but there were no temp problems before last week.
I'm having someone come out in a few days but wanted some input so I
don't get scammed. This probably has happened a million times before so
I'd appreciate your input on it. Thanks!
