foundation problems

Posted by Alan V on September 10th, 2000 09:01 PM

I have purchased a house about a year and a half ago. The house is made of brick (or at least looks brick from outside) but I seem to be having a lot of moisture in the basement along one wall. I put a dehumidifier in the basement and empty it daily. The walls have some paint on them which seems to be keeping back some of the moisture except now it seems to be bubbling. Last night in doing some yard-work I noticed some cracks along the wall near a window in the corner of the house (along the same wall). Now in a careful observation I also noticed that I can not correctly close the window where the crack appeared, and also noticed another crack along another window on the other side of the wall. It is the corner of the house. Now I'm worried the foundation must have some problems. What can I do and who can I call to check this out.
