Forced Air Furnace Squirrel Cage Not Turning Off

Posted by Camp Director on February 17th, 2002 06:10 PM

Have a very old Pioneer gas forced air
furnace with the following problem:
Furnace shuts down right on the money when the room temp reaches the thermostat setting but the blower keeps on blowing cold air until I finally pull the heater plug. Bought a new thermostat but same problem still exists. A few years ago the Time Start Fan Control (Cam-Stat PN FA47TS3-110) was installed as a replacement for the old Time Start Time Control. Can anyone tell me what would keep the Blower on when the room has reached the thermostat setting? We are not talking a delay of 25-60 seconds, the blower will stay on indefinately. BTW the original Blower was replaced a few years back. I won't say that the furnace is old but the phone # for the installer was Plesant 1-1181 and this was in the overpopulated Los Angeles area. Purchase of a new heater is desireable but unfortunately is not an option at this time.
