you were talking about vinyl siding correct? if so ,,yes removing vinyl siding will likely damage most of it, if not all of it beyond re-use..and of course it would be costly for the builder. But if he messed up he should be willing to correct it or reduce the selling price, assuming you could live with the different color, by the cost he avoids from having to totally re-do it correctly for materials and labor cost. If he offers the latter.,,,get an independent estimate to see how much he should credit you back on the selling price. Hope this helps...LJ
