I contacted Murray nationwide customer service at 800-251-8007 and was told basically that this order must have gotten lost somewhere in Sears' order system.

The rep from Murray didn't know why the Sears agents would have had such a hard time with this, as the replacement parts are in stock. He ordered this for me at no cost directly from Murray as I waited on the phone (since Sears was only going to have the part shipped to me at no cost for self-installation this was no problem). I am supposed to see the part in about a week. We'll see.
