foam insulation boxes for recessed lights?

i've got some recessed light cans above my family room and i'm fixin' to blow in celluloid insulation.

i recall seeing (in handyman magazine?) and article about building simple 5-sided boxes that fit over the light cans to maximize insulation and maintain a safety margin between the hot fixture and the celluloid.

as i recall, the box was made of 1/2" pink styrofoam insulation board and roughly a 12" cube.

has anyone seen anything like this? i'd appreciate any references to or experiences with something like this. i'm concerned that i'm missing something in my recollection that would impact the safety if i install them.
