I will soon be installing new flooring in my living and dining rooms and hallway. I have elected to ceramic tile my kitchen and a half bath which are all located in the downstairs of my townhome. My daughter swars by Pergo flooring. I've looked into it and it is very pretty but it's called Pergo Laminate Flooring. I've heard that Pergo is plastic and not actual hardwood. I plan to do an area of about 400.25 sq. ft. It will be laid over a concrete floor. I have removed the carpet and will have someone come out to give me an estimate. I have no clue as to how much a person or company will charge for this amouont of square footage. HELP! I've watched enough of the Renovation Guide to probably do it myself but I'm a little afraid. The xase sells for $73.79 and covers an area of 20.67 sq. tt. If I go with actual hardwood, I would like oak. Should I spend a little more on the oak floor?
