If you have already checked every flooring/carpet store, you checked the garage for a box of extras, your neighbors don't happen to have a few laying around and you just can't find them anywhere, you may be able to get creative. Not being able to see the area, here is an option that may get you thinking in another direction. You will need to answer a few questions first. How is the flooring attached to the subfloor (glues, nailed)? What shape (square, rectangle) is the area it is in? Can the tiles be shifted? If you can move them, add a border of a different type of wood around the outside edges that will set the area off. If you can't move them, maybe you can cut the edge with a skill saw, being very careful to set the blade so it doesn't hit the subfloor.
