At least I think that's what the problem is. If anything glass or ceramic is placed on it, it makes a horrible noise. It's also rough and while attractive, it doesn't make a very good work surface. The main problem is that we don't have the $$ to replace them with the correct tile. Is there something we can do to make them usable for a worktop or is it pretty much just grin and bear it until we get the cash to install a new counter top?
