first measure how thick your flooring and the underlayment are...

then using a circular saw with the depth of cut set to the thickness of the top two layers you want to save, cut your floor in to strips that are more manageable to tear out...

finally using a hammer and prybar pry up and remove the strips...if the prybar doesn't have enough leverage to loosen the strips try using a digging bar (these can be found at any home improvement retailer usually by the is basically a 1" steel rod w/ a chisel like end on it)
