Floor Problems

My husband and I recently purchased an old farm house. Our problem is that the house is sagging. We bought and place "jacks" in the basement for support. I noticed that there is a beam in the basement that has some rot on the bottom. Would the jacks protect from further sagging.

Our dining room which is under the beam seems to squeek so badly. I have read methods on how to get rid of the squeek which I will try but will it also stop the shake when we walk cause we have a beautiful grandmother clock which my husband built when he was 17 and we are afraid that the the shake might ruin the mechanism. It is pretty awful when you have a visitor sitting in the dining room and when they shake their leg, the mechanism seem to be bagging against one another and there is just so many times one can remind someone not to shake their leg without upsetting them.

Please help....
