Floor preparation

In reply to CERAMIC TILE FLOOR PREPARATION by LARRY GILLOCK @ PREMIERE ENTERPRISES OSCODA,MI on November 25th, 1999 10:38 AM [Go to top of thread]

I am preparing to renovate the kitchen in my 1928 Spanish-style house. Several months ago I removed all the layers of linoleum and refinshed the Douglas fir subfloor (which is what is currently there), however I will probably install ceramic tile, or genuine linoleum to fit the style of the house. Depending on which floor type I choose, is there any special preparation I need to accomplish to make the job "error free", (such as wonderboard, or plywood, or another subfloor). Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. David Sherry
